| Breast Reduction
• Back to Surgical Procedures main page > Large breasts can be bothersome, embarrassing, and sometimes painful. Back, neck, and shoulder, pain has long been attributed to enlarged heavy breasts. Acquired curvature of the spine due to years of pain and stooping can all be due to the weight of heavy breast tissue. Correction of these problems with a breast reduction is very possible. Large breasts can be a source for "too much attention," giving rise to personal embarrassment. Breast reduction surgery has even been performed in teenagers to reduce the size and weight of the breasts and create a more cosmetic appearance. Insurance carriers are often very unwilling to cover the expenses for this important and curative surgery. We have developed a plan for the surgery for such cases. Dr Apesos will perform the surgery in a certified surgery center for "cosmetic fees". All expenses are predetermined "up front" so there are no surprises. The removed breast tissues are examined by a pathologist with no compromise of care. His years of experience produce results with scars made as short as possible and post operative taping with elastic surgical tape will promote good healing to keep the scars as small as possible. |
