Abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck" is a surgical procedure is used to remove the excess wrinkled skin and fatty tissue from the abdomen for both women and men. At the same time, abdominal muscles may be tightened for a smoother and flatter stomach. If necessary, liposuction surgery is combined with this procedure to achieve the desired results.
An incision is made across the lower part of the abdomen during the surgery, and a portion of the skin is removed. The lower margin of the skin is then lifted toward the rib cage, and the abdominal muscles are then tightened. After removing excess skin, a small opening is made to accommodate the creation of a new belly button or navel in the proper anatomic position. Drains are placed to prevent blood collection, and the incision is closed with hidden sutures.

Mini Tummy Tuck
This limited procedure can tighten the muscles, but involves removing less skin. The technique is reserved only for those people with minimal deformity. The belly button can be slightly repositioned to a lower position thus avoiding the periumbilical scar.
Persons should always consult with Dr. Apesos first to determine which procedure is best suited to meet personal requirements and desired.
Combined Procedures
The tummy tuck can be combined with a breast enlargement a breast lift or liposuction in selected patients.
